OZAMIZ CITY: All chieftains of coastal villages here
have been deputized to ensure that no fishing boats will sail whenever tropical
storm signals are issued within their areas of responsibility, says a new
report.
Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. issued the deputation
order in the onset of Typhoon Ruby to protect the residents from facing
disaster situations brought about by the weather disturbance.
He said tropical storm signals are warning signs of
impending eminent danger of voyage at sea along the coastal waters of the city.
Therefore, the local government unit needs to
monitor the activities of the fishing boats or vessels, thru village chairpersons
being its front liners, the mayor said.
The
deputation order covers the villages of San Antonio, Doňa Consuelo, Maningcol,
Catadman, Carmen Annex, Baybay Triunfo, Baybay Sta. Cruz, San Roque, Tinago,
Malaubang, Pulot, Dimaluna, Tabid and Sinuza.
