Aldong fills in kapitans for Ruby watch

OZAMIZ CITY: All chieftains of coastal villages here have been deputized to ensure that no fishing boats will sail whenever tropical storm signals are issued within their areas of responsibility, says a new report.

Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. issued the deputation order in the onset of Typhoon Ruby to protect the residents from facing disaster situations brought about by the weather disturbance.

He said tropical storm signals are warning signs of impending eminent danger of voyage at sea along the coastal waters of the city.

Therefore, the local government unit needs to monitor the activities of the fishing boats or vessels, thru village chairpersons being its front liners, the mayor said.

The deputation order covers the villages of San Antonio, Doňa Consuelo, Maningcol, Catadman, Carmen Annex, Baybay Triunfo, Baybay Sta. Cruz, San Roque, Tinago, Malaubang, Pulot, Dimaluna, Tabid and Sinuza.
