OZAMIZ
CITY--President Rodrigo Duterte announced the general community quarantine in
Metro Manila starting March 15 to end in April 14.
Duterte
said this aims to combat the effect of the continuing and increasing spread of
COVID-19. Under his proclamation, mass gatherings are completely prohibited and
all means of public transport is no longer allowed the movement of people is
being limited.
All
schools in all levels are temporarily prohibited to conduct classes and
activities until April 14 and movement is restricted to their homes and they
can only go outside to just buy basic needs such as food, medicines and other
things needed for sustenance.
This
is being implemented also by Gov. Philip Tan in Misamis Occidental and the new
announcement is that he is extending the period until April 14 also. “Para (kini
) sa safety sa tanan,” Tan said in his
facebook post.
Tan
disclosed that the province will be in parallel with the general quarantine in Manila,
and for this reason, the deadline too for his extension.
These
are his reasons: person under monitoring (PUM) will due on April 9 on their
prescribed 14-days quarantine. A PUM have no signs and symptoms, but warrants self
quarantine and monitoring for 14 Days.
“Likayan
nato (nga) magdugangan ang (mga) PUM. Hangyoa inyong mga paryente ug mga kaila (nga)
dili una (mosulod) sa Misoc,” the governor said.
“Ang
atong pasyente nga positive sa Covid 19 nasulod sa hospital niadtong March 25.
Meaning kun ugaling naa siyay nakaduol nga tawo the last time will be March 25.”
Counting
14 days from that date, April 8 is the PUI’s completion of hospital admission,
Tan added.
“(It would) be much safer for us if we
followed April 14. We will be strict with our borders to keep us all safe,” he
said.
“Palihug
lang walay hangyoay (ug) walay palakasan. (Stay) at home. Practice hand washing,
always do social distancing and most of all wear a face mask,” he ended.
