OZAMIZ CITY—Congressman
Henry Oaminal has dealt with the grievance of fellow Rep. Diego Ty in the first
district over his being rejected from a closed-door meeting between Gov. Philip
Tan and all the mayors of Misamis Occidental, which included Oaminal also.
In a meeting with
journalists, Oaminal said he understood Ty as having affected by his emotion for
being left out.
Ty has said he wanted to
know the truth why he was not allowed to attend the meeting since traditionally
he is an elected representative in the province.
Ty added that he believed he
was not allowed to attend the meeting because he does not sit well with the
party politics of 20-0.
The value 20-0 has become
the synthesis for a unified whole in the province and has influenced
Misamisnons to vote straight, delivering a clean sweep during last 2018 elections
here.
“Ang gipatawag ni Tan (of meeting the mayors) was in his own capacity as governor who is the first person tasked to implement the executive order issued by President Duterte (on the Covid19 crisis),” Oaminal stated.
What the governor did was
his own initiative, his privilege in the performance of his duties on whoever
he chooses to attend and whom he believes could formally make something in this
particular crisis, he added.
“Ang iyang line of
bureaucracy and mga municipal mayors,” Oaminal briefly said.
The congressman said he also
was there because he was invited, even suggesting his personal and good working
relationship with the governor, and his moral duty to help.
“Kung wala niya naimbitar
akong higala, it doesn’t mean nga iyang gi-prohibit si Congressman Ty sa
pagbuhat sa iyang initiative sa sa pagtabang sa atong crisis karon, Dili pod
(unta) ikalain,” he added.
“Kung wala ka kaapil, it
doesn’t mean nga dili na lang sad ka mohimo ug kaayohan sa imong katawhan,” Oaminal
said.
He cited that at one
instance, a week before when he called a meeting for all the mayors of his
district, the governor did not prevent him.
“Amoa man nang katungod,” he
ended. (M. MEDINA)
